According to a statement from China State Council, in 2010 a total of 18 Chinese industries including steel, cement and coke, fully achieved their targets for the elimination of outdated or backward production capacities.
In its 11th five year plan period (2011-2015), China eliminated a total of 110 million tonnes of iron making capacity, 68 million tonnes of steel production capacity, 330 million tonnes of cement output capacity and 100 million tonnes of coke production capacity.
